Renovation of two “Rixwell Hotel Konventa Sēta” buildings is completed, winning third place in the Latvian Construction Awards 2020 in the category “Reconstruction”.

After the renovation, which lasted from February 2020 to February 2021, the hotel has taken on entirely new features with rebuilt rooms and elegant design. 

The first guests after the renovation are scheduled to be in the summer of 2021, but reservations can ALREADY be booked at www.rixwell.com.

The “Rixwell Hotel Konventa Sēta”, after renovation by a “Pillar Latvia” group company, now boasts two fully restored buildings of 1100 m2 and 67 newly rebuilt rooms. Renovation of the historic building was a major challenge for both construction workers and the building owners, since the buildings are 13th-19th century Architectural Monuments of National Importance. 

The renovation included a variety of tasks of varying difficulty (dismantling of separating walls and construction of new ones, in places where it was necessary due to design changes. Other tasks included the construction of gypsum ceilings, finishing works, reintroducing internal engineering networks: electricity, heating, ventilation, cooling, water pipes and sewers, low-voltage TV networks, data networks, telephone lines, access control system, video monitoring system and fire detection alarm). 

When renovating the facades of both buildings, access for people with special needs was constructed, and 2 rooms were constructed specifically for people in wheelchairs. Additionally, an attic floor with 3 new rooms was constructed. 

It should be noted that this renovation won 3rd place in the Latvian Construction Awards 2020 in the “Reconstruction” category and entered the second round of the competition Best Construction of the Year in Latvia 2020.
